I just finished my 72 El Camino SS. I sprayed the wheels with the PPG laquer formual with the texture additive. I tried many spray cans but I feel these look the best so far. I have another set of wheels that I have blasted and primed. Wanted to get some feedback on these before I paint the other set that I intend to sell. Thanks Dan

They look fantastic! How is the durability? Did they scratch/chip easily as you put the trim rings/lug nuts in place? The Camino looks bad a$$!

p.s.--Where in Jersey are you? ;)

Thanks guys. The paint seems very durable so far. No chipping putting the rings on. I torqued the lug nuts manually so no chipping there either.

If anyone wants the number to order the paint from PPG, let me know. I bought a quart and used very little with a 1 to 1 reduction. After I paint the other set, I could offer the paint to someone here to do their wheels, or if you live close enough to me, bring me your wheels ready to paint and I can do them for you. Thanks again. Dan

Some years ago I repainted a couple of sets of these wheels using Ditzler DDL32961 mixed to original specs. They come out looking like this using the original style paint. The suede look made by the "pebble finish" additive is obvious.
