Re: OK, if there were no 67 427 El Caminos, why does NADA have it listed?

it might not have come from the factory, but maybe some "tuners" built 427 powered Elcos. do they list Yenko's and stuff like that?

They made just as many 4 X 4s units at the factory. The really rare ones had both the 427SS package with the 4X4.

Remember, they are just publishers who hire people for their ability to type, they don't have to know squat about cars and what options were available.

I was looking at '70 Chevelles on one of those websites it might of been NADA but they had a Rally Sport option listed for a '70 Chevelle.

I think alot of their option lists are just generic selections you can make. They list sunroof, 4x4, off road tires etc... you just check the appropriate boxes.

NADA is kind of worthless when it comes to classic cars. Under Muscle Car > Chevrolet > 1967 they list various models of Chevelle (300/300 Deluxe/Concours wagon/SS396) but fail to list the Malibu. Under the SS396 the options include a lot of Corvette items but lack such basics as stereo, vinyl top, etc. Air conditioning and 4-speed are the only items applicable to the SS396. Think a SS396 with 327 and 4-speed is worth $86,450 at high retail? I don't. If one adds all the Corvette options it jumps to $152,740. Definately one I'd use to sell a car.:D

As Dale posted, NADA is useless for classic cars, and is pretty much useless for late model cars also. As far as I know, only the banks use NADA. Dealerships laugh at it!
