I have a 69 396 and currently running off a manual oil gauge. I want to reconnect the original oil sending unit ( electric) back to the original guages and i don't know where on the engine to put the sending unit. I have the manual guage connected at the oil filter..help is appreciated

The oil pressure gauge on a 69 is located on the driver side rear on the engine and has 1 wire that attaches to it. It is the blue wire with a black rubber boot on the end of it.
If you look ver close in this picture you can see the wire and the black rubber boot at the end of it.

Well all I can say is the last time I looked under my hood I had a 396 unless someone stole it, LOLl

The original sending unit will go to the same place your mechanical gauge is connected to, down by the oil filter. Be sure to get the right sending unit as there are two different ones for 1969. One is for gauges and one is for the idiot light.
