I have a 572 620HP engine in my 67 El Camino, now has 4200 miles on it, and would like to know which oil would be best to use. I've been using the manufacturer recommended 20/50 racing oil and been thinking about a synthetic oil.

Thanks and Happy New Year;

Tony

I have used regular Valvoline oil for decades with excellent results, street driven vehicles including DuraMax Diesel. Race cars get Red Line Synthetic oil and lubricants.

Thank you everyone for the input, much appreciated. I am going to read up on the oil and zinc myth and then go from there.
