I am taking my 496 to the dyno on Thursday let's get a little pool of guesses together. Here is the basic combo:

496 BBC
4.310 bore 4.250 Stroke
13.4:1 Compression
Dart 335 CNC with some hand work (sanding rolls mostly)
Solid Roller .798 .775 280 288 duration 110 lsa in at 106 icl


Let's hear some guesses.

the 13.4 compression is the real wild horse for me... I have never dealt with a motor with that high compression, but, its got to be worth maybe 50 hp over an 11:1 motor... My guess would be 675 hp at the crank... Not sure what it would be at the rear wheels due to the slush box, stick stick shift variances...

Which kind of Dyno, engine or Chassis? Have you run it at a track? What speed did it run and how much does it weigh? My son had a high compression 481" with those same heads, it ran a best of 9.98 @ 133.70 at a weight of appx. 3550 lbs. with a T-400, 4.11 gears and a 4200 stall ATI converter. I'm guessing it made a little less than 700 h.p. at the flywheel. On a Dynojet it made 561rwhp and 638 rwtq.

Well with an 8 degree shorter cam and .710 lift with a set of heads with the same runner volume but worse peak and average flow numbers by a min of 20 cfm it went 9.41 @ 141 in 3480 lbs. That combo was never on the dyno, but by all of the et and mph to weight calculators it was right around 750-775 at the crank. Honestly if it makes less than 800 I will be dissappointed, I think "theoretically" it will make close to 850. I am assuming it will be in the 7200-7500 rpm range. But hey I will def know tomorrow.

My buddy had a similar setup but never dyno'd it. Around same raceweight it went 9.4's-9.5's at 138-140's i believe. Now in a vega, car goes 9.0's at 151 i believe. I would think his is closer to 750-775 and your setup should be closer to 800 at crank.
