Fabulous job, Marv. The back panel for your tailgate is obviously a custom. Is that just 1/8" carbon steel?
Yup, Both the body shop and I got impatient. He wanted this thing out of his shop, and I wanted it back so I could start putting it back together. That inner skin is just 12g. sheet metal. I found 3 original inner tailgate pieces and every one of them are so trashed we just made a flat sheet for now. Eventually I'll fnd an inner plate that is worth the effort to restore. But for now.... Sure glad it's a screw on piece!

Marv, damn that looks nice! It looks a lot different than the last time I saw it (in person).

I STILL haven't switched over my AC pieces yet:(. It will happen...soon! My wife is starting to get a bit antsy about the "stuff" on the garage floor...LOL

BTW, I have been watching a certain show...and I haven't seen you on it yet.

Are they going to show it soon...or did I miss it?

Just wondering, the pictures are from 2004; did you do the show again this year, or are they that far behind?

Yeah, don't ask how I got so luck as to be in Phoenix Pinks All Out in the Nova in 2006, and again in 2007 in Tucson in my little street truck. What the heck,,, if they come back to Az... and this Camino is finished........... ;)

The bed looks great! I was noticing the tailgate catches. Are they chromed? Whatever they are they look better than mine. Mine are painted but of course chipped up now from closing the tailgate about 10 times.

Doug, All of the latches and hardware pieces are painted with a Mercedes silver. It looks like machined aluminum don't it ;)

Ask me again about the wax in about 30-45 days Oscar. It just came out of the paint booth so it needs to harden and cook all the solvents out before it sees any wax. But my guess is,,, there will be a blanket layed down and I will be spending lots of time on my hands and knees working towards the tailgate. :(
