I'm looking for a vendor that offers a replacement bumper for my 65 malibu. I'm going with an all black theme and will be painting or powder coating the bumper so in an effort to reduce prep I'd prefer to find one that isn't chromed if possible

How about a fiberglass one?.

Just scuff up a chromed one really well with a DA and/or by hand to allow the epoxy primer to stick - should hold up really well if the prep is good. ( I have some of both front and rear 65 bumpers - send a PM if needed.) Ed

Hadn't thought of a fiberglass bumper, that's a good alternative. The bumpers that are on it now are original and would need body work in addition to the prep to paint over the chrome. So my idea was to buy replacements regardless. Thanks for all the responses
