Would I have any real problems running a 180 degree thermostat in a 95 chevy cavalier with a 2.2 L? I just rebuilt the engine, bumped the compression up a bit, and put a little bigger cam in it. Right now it has the stock computer chip in it. It has the stock 195 degree thermostat in it now, but running a little hot. The engine runs real good, big improvement over stock, it will smoke the front tires all the way through 1st gear.

Thanks for any help

Wow...A tutu smoking the tires! I can't envision my S-10 smoking the tires all the way through 1st gear!

You might want to check some other sites. www.s10forum.com has a lot of info about the 2.2's and performance mods. I don't know about any sites dedicated to Cavaliers however in my thinking "a 2.2 is a 2.2". Give that forum a try and see what you can find.
