I'm having a problem with my '68. When I turn my headlights on, I don't have tail lights. I have brake & turn signals, but no tail lights. If I take my switch out & run a power wire to my oI'm wn switch, then I have lights. I've also tried 3 different headlight switches. Anyone have any ideas?

At the same time I lost all my dash lights...

The tail light fuse clips are dirty. I assume that when you run the line to the headlight switch, you are applying 12 volts to the orange wire. This is what makes the tail lights come on.
This orange wire, from the tail light fuse also provides power to the dash lights.
Someone suggested using a 22 caliber gun bore brush bent like a "L" to get in and clean the fuse clips. Also use a brand new fuse.
