Currently I have the SS Magnum 500s on my 69. 15X8 with 4 1/2 backspace, rear tires are 275/60 and fronts are 245/60. No rubbing problems. The new Cragars I ordered have a back space of 4 1/4 and a neg.offset of 6mm. Trying to get it in my head how they will fit. I am getting new tires also. Would like to stay with the same size but now thinlking of going to 255/60s in the rear and 235/60s in the front. The backspace 1/4 inch difference should move the wheel out that 1/4 inch amount. Am I at least correct on that part? Not sure what the neg . 6mm offset will do. Have checked the data base and watched a few videos on U Tube but I would like an opinion from the people on here that have actually done this . Thanks.

YES compared to your current Wheel/Tire Combo
as long as the new Tire is not as wide as the Old Tire by 1/2 inch you should have No Problems on the Rear
where you may get into a problem is on the Front at Max Turn

The neg. 6 mm OFFset = the 4.25" BackSpace

Thanks Kirk. Always read your tire and wheel advice here. Seems you are one of the first ones to jump in. So 6mm being .24 inches a 255mm tire being 20mm narrower than a 275mm the difference should be just about 3/4 of an inch. The 10mm between 245s and 235s would be just under a half inch. Thanks again.
