Hi

My name is Tomas. I have just bought my Chevelle Malibu SS, ( 7:th of jan 2008 ). The car was exported from the US. 1976 / Imported to Sweden. I just have found this great Forum, and it have been very usefull
for me to get the information that I have been looking for.
Since I bought it I have spent 100´ds of hours in the garage. My car was awarded 3:e place in "Bilsport Custom & Performance Show in mars 2008.
Since you probably newer heard of the event, it´s the biggest annual show in Scandinavia with over 80 000 visitors.
It´s a true SS car, built i Baltimore , body tag printed B D, and I also have the original Buildsheet.
( Sorry for my grammatic error, but I hope you got the message right )

Here is a link to pictures of my car : http://www.garaget.org/?car=76782

Best Regards from Tomas in Norrkoping Sweden

Thanks for the comments. Since I bought the car I have spent a lot of time working on the car, and this is what I have done:

* Complete new interior (side panels, bucket seats, floormat, passenger seat)
* Restored dash. Whole dash out of car. New paint under, restored the wireing, cluster refinished, adding a tachometer. Replaced all lamps
* Completely res. of center consol.
* New stearing wheel, headrests
* New airvent knobs, window handles, seatcrome,, interior light
* " New " Am-Fm stereo, ( has been taken out from a -70 Chevelle
* Completely renovation of trunk
* All new weather strip
* Brakes rear. New hydralic cylinder, lathed ( ? ) drums, pads
* Rims sandblastered and repainted
* Restored / renovated under, No welding needed, new "Bodycoat"
* New exhaust system. Welded Built by myself ( from headers ----> )
* Engine compartement. All tubes replaced, new paint (black), engine new paint (headers removed/sandblastered, intake manifold / distibuor / starter a.s.o taken of ) New plugs, ignition wires, airfilter, wiper washer tank, hood/ engine sound isolation, vacuum unit + solenoid. electrical wirering "claned up " (lose ends and so on fixed ) New heavy duty batery
* New headlights, lenses turn. sign, cowl vents.

I have spent MANY hours of reduceing the sound inside the car. Sound reduceing material on "trunkfloor" , sidewalls in trunk, hood insulator,
Inside the car : Behind the dash, torpedo--->engine compartement, , floor in coupe, under backseat, , backseat---->trunk, shelf, sidewalls in backseat, doors.
Location of annoying and / or rattling noices. Fixed them. The car handles great and feel " solid as a rock"

This is the most of what I have done since jan 7:th 2008
The car was " newpainted " when i bought it. " Lasers traight ".

So what´s next ? Need to replace / rechrome the rear bumper, new shocks and springs, ( not emergency ). New side mirrors..
There will always be something to lay your hands on .
