I'm getting ready to install a new engine wiring harness on my 70 SS. The old harness has some sort of protective lubricant or grease where it connects to the fuse block. What is this stuff? Is it necessary to put it on the new harness? If so, where do you purchase it? Thanks for helping!

Its probably some kind of anti corrosion lube, you should be able to get this stuff at an electrical supply house.

I believe it's called dielectric grease. It protects from corrosion as well as it maintains a good electrical contact.

Hopefully someone will help fill us in.

Yes it is Dielectric grease. You can get it at any autoparts store or hardware center. It helps prevent corrosion on electrical connections.

This is way cool!!!!!! I like the new forum, Al. What does the flaming folder mean?
