4 my 69 Chevelle. I bought a new engine harness. The plug has 9 wires in it. The GM schematics I have. Show only 8 wires. The 9th wire is in the same connector with the resister wire to the coil. It is a pink 12 gauge wire. Would this wire be the idle stop solinoid wire? If so would it be 12 volts with the key on and in the start position? If so can I use it to power my MSD 6AL box? Threw the box and to the MSD HEI distributor.

I don't know what it was for. It has 0 volts with key off and 12 volts in the on and start position. I used it to power the MSD 6AL box. Seems to work. Any other thoughts on this wire?

You are correct, the extra wire is for an idle stop solenoid. One side of the MSD has heavy red and black wires that connect to the battery and smaller gauge orange, black and red wires. I'm assuming you connected the extra (pink) wire to the smaller gauge red wire. If so you should have no problem.
