Chevrolet El Camino Photo History by Monty Montgomery

$24.95, paperback, 118 pages

This new book was mentioned in one of the car magazines I received recently, and it had “El Camino” in the title so I had to order one. It’s got lots of black and white photos (no color) and model production statistics covering both Chevy and GMC versions. The pictures are a mix of real-world photos and a few extracted from factory advertising literature. Many of the vehicles have some modification from stock so it would not serve well as an authoritative restoration guide, but I enjoyed looking through it and so did my wife.

The last three sections of the book include a “Spotters Guide” that summarizes the distinguishing features year to year, a short listing of parts suppliers, and clubs. Team Chevelle and our web site are mentioned.

If you like El Caminos and have an interest in their evolution through the years, you'll probably enjoy this book.
