Not sold on the EV thing yet but all the folks I know with the Tesla seem to be pleased with their vehicles. Being a truck guy I will wait for Rivian to open a showroom. I think I'll have to take a closer look at the truck they are building, sure looks good for a daily driver here in the Valley of the Sun.

If you need a truck that will actually do work, then there is only one choice - Atlis Motor Vehicles. Up to 35,000 GCWR, up to 17,000 pounds traditional towing, up to 5,000 pound payload capacity, 15 minute charging, etc. And they offer an eletric chassis that you can build your own vehicel around. I think they will be the ones to beat. Built here in Mesa.

Atlis is not known to me, but I assume there will be many startup companies producing EV's. For me I have time on my side, I assume 2021 will have some of these EV's come to market and after a period of time we will see the benefits and drawbacks of each manufacturer.

I’m not against EV’s at all. They certainly can work in the right situation.
I’ve never heard of Atlis and the fact that there asking for individual investors on their website is a big red flag to me.
Today I read about Shell and some other companies stating that (between them all) they were going to add almost 3 million charging sites by 2025. That’s an investment opportunity.
find out who build the actual charge equipment that these companies will install!

I still don't get it. We're cancelling the pipeline, going all green, but I still don't see where we're getting all this electricity from. It's supposed to all be "renewable". I see it as all very expensive. They want to raise taxes on gas, and I'm sure "renewable" electricity will be pricey, as Obama said, "it'll necessarily be more expensive". I'll stick to my gas powered cars for now.

There is a lot of wind turbine blade manufacturing in the el paso texas area. It may be in Juarez. The trucks carrying the blades north and east are a common sight. Have no idea how much electricity these "wind farms" are actually generating. Did remember Ted Kennedy fought like tooth and nails to prevent one from being constructed between Hyannisport and Martha's Vineyard.

They'll be like gas pump manufacturers, 100's of different ones. https://gaspumpbible.com/the-gas-pump-bible One day in the far future they will whittle down to just a few.

One choice now but electric is here to stay. For everyone that thinks electric can't handle heavy duty work then why do trains use diesel generators to power the electric motors that make them move. Simple answer is torque. As far as conversion kits those will someday be used to convert our muscle cars like LS engines do today but with much more power. However that will be an option like the LS conversions are today. Batteries will need to be changed drastically as I do not think our chassis can handle the weight requirement as they are today. Unfortunately many of us will expire before those days are here. The old saying "There is no replacement for displacement" instead will be "There is no replacement for our glorious sounding engines"...

Sadly, after 20 or so years all the turbines have to be replaced and the old ones usually end up in a landfill. This is increasingly becoming a sticking point with environmentalists that are now recommending nuclear power over renewable sources. Also, more European countries are building nuclear plants because of the zero carbon footprint and to keep the costs down. Interesting times indeed!

What happens to all the old wind turbines?

Electric power impacts the environment as much as fossil fuel use if not more. They're slowly brainwashing people to be believe it's the greatest thing. It's all about control and money.
I suggest you go and find a Tesla and give it a run if you think they are a joke. I have driven them and will certainly wait for the technology to stabilize but they are faster than anything I have ever driven and I recently sold my 662 hp 2014 GT500 that did 0-60 in 3.5 seconds with a 202 mph top end. . Not only are they good for the earth they are a far superior technology compared to what we have today. Hey I am not a tree hugger obviously owning all performance vehicles today including my 68 but now owning a solar home and once a Accord hybrid car they have their place in this world today and regardless of your dislike they will tomorrow.

Good for the earth?? It is obvious that you have not researched just what is involved in building these electric vehicles. They are FAR from good for the earth. Everyone is being sold a bill of goods about electric vehicles, as they are NOT 'carbon neutral' or even good for the environment. The minerals that are used to produce batteries come from mines, which environmentalists are supposedly against. I have no problem with mining, as it provides hundreds of thousands of jobs across this country (between the mines themselves and the industries that support the mines, it is more likely millions of jobs).

The other issue is with charging. If the electricity used to charge is not from a clean source (nuclear, hydro, etc.), then that adds even more environmental damage.

What I think is interesting about the “zero emissions” from the EV segment is that it is a total lie. If you think batteries do not emit gases your sorely mistaken and these batteries take up a hell of a lot of landfill space. Not denying the performance as low end torque with electric motors is pretty amazing on cars but there is no rumble, no smell, no sound. That to me is all part of it and without that it is nothing.

I will charge my E car when I buy it from the Sun and only the Sun and I have that technology today sitting on my roof. Do you seriously think our energy and how it is obtained today is good for our earth. Fracking, seriously? My solar panels don't dump oil into the sea do they. Yes I understand the methods that are changing quickly for the minerals and other chemicals do some harm for sure but my panels with a 25 year warranty will not continue to pollute year after year. Everytime we fire up we do! I can't wait for the day that I have no oil bill to heat my home but I can only afford so much so fast. I also understand that this "Free stuff" I get today will not last as only two things are for sure in this world "Death and Taxes" and they will find a way to collect, they always do. Our technology is just evolving and you can either die off with the dinosaurs or evolve. I choose the later.

You should worry a lot more about what comes out my ass long before a lithium battery :ROFLMAO:
