Hello!

I am not only new to the forum, but I am only recently the owner of a 1972 Chevelle SS. From the time I first learned to drive I have always wanted one of these incredible cars and now I am proud to say I finally am!

While my car seem to be in good shape mechanically (I have a trusted mechanic going over it now), it does not a lot of body and interior work. There is a fair amount of rust on the body, the rear window molding is missing, both door mirrors are missing, the dash has been cracked from the radio being stolen, the headliner is shredded...I could go on, but you get the picture.

I know I have a lot of work a head of to restore this car to what it should be, but I want to be sure I do everything right! In order to do this, I am seeking advice, resources, and directions from the experts (The Members of Team Chevelle). So don’t bombard you all with too many questions right out of the starting gate – I will only ask two for right now:

1). Do you recommend any additives? (In other words, gas, oil, radiator, break-fluid, power-steering and so on). So far I have been too add Sta-Bil to the gas tank to keep the ethanol from gumming up my carburetor and to add Water Wetter to the radiator to add with cooling and stop corrosion. What are your opinions?

2). Where do you recommend I obtain replacements for my missing door mirrors? It was recommended to me that I replace the mirrors with the Sport Style Mirrors, but I was also told they are difficult to find. Again, what are your opinions?

I thank everyone who responds to my questions in advance for taking the time to help me out, it is greatly appreciated, believe me!
