Hello everybody, I am from eastern Arkansas and bought a 1969 SS Chevelle, factory 396 w/ 4 speed. It is in a somewhat rough shape right now but when I bought it last week the motor ran great on a run stand and it still has the factory transmission and rear end too! I got this car as a project for me and my dad to repair, I'm a sophomore in college and it gives me a good chance to come home on weekends and fix something besides my other car, a 2010 taurus sho. I hope to learn a lot from everyone on here who has done past restorations.

Great car to restore. Common advice to restorers: bag and tag all hardware and small parts. Then make sure you don't misplace the bags. Also, keep a written log of parts purchased. I bagged and tagged but somehow managed to misplace the bags. Coming to the end of my 70 Chevelle's restoration I find that I have doubles of many parts. The longer the restoration, the more parts you may end up buying twice. Have fun.
