Hello everybody. First off I want everyone to know that I am in love with the 1966 Chevelle! I have always wanted one and I think I may have found one. I don't want to spend too much money so please give me some advise on this ad...

Is this worth it? I have seen the car in person. It needs work, but the body is straight, no rust.. I ran a magnet around the entire car and its solid. I'm all about metal work, but know nothing about motors and such.. The car seems nice to me. What are your opinions? Please help!

Welcome, Devin! Don't know that much about that year, so I'll just bump you a bit for visibility.

However, as I recommend to a first buyer of any old car - have the brakes thoroughly checked out. If not maintained, they can fail at the worst possible moment, in particular due to the lines rusting from the inside out.

Welcome to TC, Devin----:D

The above advice on brakes is really sound. After that, body work is very expensive. Mechanical stuff is fun to do and there's a ton of great help here.

Looks like decent ride, and I think price is fair. The body condition is always first in my book, drivetrain, brakes, front end repairs are easier to do have you driven it? and if you can, get it up in the air on a lift and look under to check frame and floor pans for damage and rust. Jay
