Im looking at buying an air compressor I just need a little advise. This will be used for medium duty applications (medium sand blasting, grinder,buffer etc) I was looking at some models at sears but they dont seem to have a high enough cfm @ psi rating for these tools (mainly blaster). Or mabey Im just not understanding how the cfm @ psi reading works. At any rate, anyone who has had good luck with a compressor recently, if you could drop me a line with the brand, WWW page if avail, price, max output and any other relevant info would be a great help.

My dad and I got two of those 5 hp - 20 gal compressors they have at sears, except i think they are now like 5.5hp and 30 gal tanks. Alone, they are great, but we run them in tandem for pressure sandblasting and we never run outta air. If you used a small nozzle on the blaster, one would get the job done fine. I think that they are a good compressor for the money, and they always go on sale. That's how we ended up with two

I use a 6 hp with a 60 gal vertical tank Campell Hausefield professional single stage. i am very happy with it, runs all the impacts, small blaster and a DA sander. Home Depot around $350 2 years ago.

I also have a 6 hp 60 gallon Campell Hausefield. Works great. It runs everything except for pressure blasting. When I do this, I use both compressors. My other is a 3.5 hp 30 gallon Campell Hausefield that I bought probably 20 years ago, still working but compressor is getting weak.
