I am installing a used floor BM MegaShifter into a 71 column shift. Need help to wire the Neutral safety switch and the Reverse Lights switch. I have the microswitches intalled in the shifter.
Not sure it helps, but here's a picture of the NSS with the wires attached on a 1968 (Not sure if the wiring is the same). Solid purple goes to the starter, stripe goes to the ignition switch.
I have a factory floor shifted '71....the NSS is two purple wires (12 ga.) and the reverse lamps are two green wires, one lighter than the other. However I do believe column shifted cars use a pink and a green.
Got it! New connectors and correct wires - looks factory. Done Deal. Thanks everyone for your help.
Hey Sapperox, Great photos and website. My 1st Chevelle was a 68, too. Had more rust than yours (living in the middle of the Pacific ocean). Went from a 307/PG to a 454/TH400. Won a bunch of show awards. You're doing the right thing. Enjoy the journey! Aloha
