I bought a used tach cluster for my '70 without the circuit board and don't want to buy one until I can test the gauges. I know the gas gauge sender has a range of approx. 91 ohms but does anyone know the resistance range of the sender that the temp gauge works on? I also would like to know which terminals on back of the gauge go to +12, the ground, and to the green sender wire, for there are 4 of them and they don't appear to be marked.

Thanks,

Jim

looking at the back of the gauge the left hand connection is for the sender, the right hand connection is for the 12 VDC source, the top connection makes connection with the resister to the bottom connection. The bottom connection is also grounded.

kudo's to you for bench testing. Will save you a lot of headaches.

Can't gaurantee the accuracy but this is what I have found bench testing several temp gauges.
50 ohm = 250 deg
77 ohm = 210 deg
270 ohm = 100 deg

Not linear at all.
