i have a 70ss in need of a windshied, I was going to get it done at safelite. They have a
lifetime warrenty. Then I talked to someone that has a 70 442 and he said I should get the factory glass(pittsburg)and it would be about 50 bucks more.Does anyone know if it would affect anything in a show. Or maybe a quality difference.I don't know.

i managed an auto glass shop for a few yrs.i know when i am at a show,if i see a SGC glass,Safelite Glass Corp. i know its not factory and not as nice as original. PPG or LOF is the only 2 i would use on GM cars.

PPG is the way to go. GM has used that for many years as "factory" glass. I've used PPG in my 67 Elky and 72 Monte(same as Chevelle) with no problems at all.
