Mine is toast.

I've read all the posts, and called all of the retailers. These are officially hard to find!

The horn relay for a 72 Chevelle seems to be unique to the 72-73 Chevelle, Nova, Caprice, etc.

Anybody know where I can get one? If not, is there another part that I can use? Which one, and how much surgery is it going to involve. I don't care about originality, I just need it to work.

BTW, the AC Delco website shows a part number D1735 as being a horn relay for a 72 Chevelle. Other websites show this part as being for a 57-58 Chevy

Saw that a NOS one went on eBay for almost $50. Part number is 6273328. I would have paid that if I had known then that I needed it. Now that I need one, none to be had on eBay.

Help!

Fritz-

I know all too well how rare this part is becoming. Try these two guys who run an NOS parts business on the side: http://www.automobilearchives.com/ I tried your part #, and the search didn't reveal anything, but that's where I found my NOS horn relay about 1.5 years ago. Give them a call, or an e-mail. Also, keep checking on Ebay. You can also post a parts wanted advertisement on TC. Someone out there most likely has one, perhaps even a new NOS piece. Good Luck buddy!

P.S.: The convertible is coming along nicely. Post those pictures!

Sending out my last used one. Haven't spotted anymore lately. Yeah, getting real tough to find. Actually any horn relay will work but one has to cut off the connectors and add lugs to the wires.

I talked to these guys. Very interesting. They claim to remanufacturer these relays to original specs. $49. I think John Muha is hooking me up with a used one, but someone else might want to go this route...
