After my 65 just got delivered last weekend, my son rolled down the passenger window with a little too much zeal. He thought it was cool that a car actually had manual windows;) . Anyhow, the window fell of of the track, and to the bottom of the door. I have tried all manner of pulling it up and getting it back on the regulater, but nothing has worked. I am in the process of removing the door panel (not my first choice as the whole door is covered in Dynamat). I have all of the screws ,snaps and handleds off, but the panel is still attached at the top. I would think that this should slide up and off, but it hasn't so far> I am scared to force it to much. I have 2 questions. Is there an easier way to get the window back up on the regulator, and if not, how can I finish getting the darn door panel off. Thanks!

The door panel fits into the chrome track and you need to persuade it to slide out of there. The track is screwed to the door structure and will stay in place.

There are metal clips along the vertical edges of the door panel, 3-4 on each edge. These can be released with gentle pulling. The are supposed to come free of the door structure. But on old cardboard door panels they could tear the cardboard. So it is best to try and release them by sliding a putty knife in there and using it to tug on the clip directly.
