Not sure what the photo shows?

Which brake line is this and on what year car?

I have had all of the brake lines off of my 66 this week, and got the rears, and front to rear back on. The fronts are going to take some messaging to fit back to the new prop valve.

If it is the front to rear line on the drivers side of a 66, it does go between the frame and body or something, at the crossmember in front of the rear axle. I just took the old one out, and mooshed the new one in. Did have to bend it to get it in there and also to go above the trans crossmember. Nothing some hand straightening could not undo. I think the spring covering is supposed to be in the area where it passes through the frame to prevent chafing.

I had painted it but the paint did not survive the install.

None of my original 4 wheel manual drum lines went through a hole in the frame, except the rear where it fits into the flex line.

The right front line bugs me because it is only a half inch away from the headers. I am not quite to the point of mocking up that new line yet.

I changed that one Saturday one the 66. I used the one piece replacement from Ground Up.

It fit pretty well and was worth whatever it cost so I did not have to bend line.

It had to go through the opening in the frame at the drivers side in front of the rear wheel to get to the crossmember in front of the rear axle. I might have mis spoke about which crossmember in the earlier post. I did not pay attention when I did it, I just put the new one back where the old one came from. When I got done, it fit into all of the clips on the frame that held the original, and lined up with the opening where the flex hose comes through the crossmember above the rear axle.

The new flex hose was different on the axle end, so I fabbed a bracket to attach to the cover bolt.

I installed the rear first and then carefully bent it enough to fit above the trans crossmember.

Ended up going into the clips pretty well.

Note that I am not doing a resto, I painted it for corrosion protection, scratched the crap out of the paint, and did it on jackstands in the driveway. Took about 1.5 Bud Light Limes.

I will go look when it stops raining.
