I live in west Davie in Broward County, Fl. Can anyone recommend an electrical shop is this area that works on old car generators?. My 55 Chevy's generator needs servicing but none of the places I have called have a clue on how to work on my generator. I can't drive far since my battery will be drained.

If you don't find anything you can ship it to me and I can take it two doors down to a place called Alstar Auto Electric here in Bellevue, WA. They are
often working on classics, had a '49 Caddy in there the other day. In fact, I asked them and they said if you send me the numbers from it they can look
it up and see if parts are available. Usually they have to rebuild the armature, if so it's like $150, plus shipping back. He doesn't know of a source for new or rebuilt ones that old.
