I got a call from my daughter in Charlotte, NC telliing me that her car was stolen. Three man and one woman broke into her car and headed down on Rt 77 south with the car full of drugs. It seems police knew about them and were waiting and they got caught. Window seal and ignition switch are broken. Left/right passenger door have a dent. I'm glad I was able to get the car back, as it does not have full coverage. I'm going to call the Charlotte Police Dept. to thank them for their tremedous effort to stop these people. Last week I talked to my neighbor and asked him to assist me in removing the hood from the Chevelle. I'm going to remove the engine to have it rebuilt. For some reason when ever I'm ready to invest some money in the Chevelle something happens that I have to invest it in something else. Twice before it was the mini van and it cost 2k to have it repaired. I'll keep trying. Bill, you are not off the hook yet, LOL LOL.

People who steal are cowards. They can get a job like the rest of us.

About a year ago I caught a guy and his girl in a stolen Rustang at about 1am.

How I caught them was the roads were somewhat wet and this guy thought he could do 1,000 mph on slick roads. But they ended up in my yard.

The girl wanted me to help push this car out, but I let her know ot wasn't moving till the cops came. They took off on foot.

Soon after the cops show up, then more cops plus a few dogs. They did catch the pair and had the Rustang hauled off.

Strangely not one week later my mailbox get's mashed. Gee I wonder who could have done this???????????

It took me like five minutes to straighten the damage, paint the bare metal and re-attach the mailbox to the post. DUH?

The car is a 2001 Neon. I went to the junk yards this morning and found out I have to buy the entire steering column. Unfortunately they did not have one. I went to the Chrysler dealer and they want 300.00 for it. One guy told me he would find me an entire steering column with steering wheel, covers, light switches, and signal lights for 300.00. I think it is pretty good but I dont need all of it.

Luis, no luck locating a column, I do have one more place that you can check with, here is the info; B&B Salvage, its an all Mopar yard and it is near the Patuxent River bridge on Rt 214. The ph# is 301-249-5111. Have you ever changed the switches and wiring on a bare column, you need tamper resistant torx bits and there are a couple of switches to change, I would be tempted to get the dressed column if it was me.

Leo, thank you for looking for the parts. I think I'm going to buy a new one this week. Bill, as you can see I'll have to wait a little more to get it done. I'm going to fix my daughter's cars and then the Chevelle. Hope to have it done before the next MCC show.
