This may be the most trivial question posted, but I have no other choices. I purchased a glove box for a 69SS from Paddock. It has a decal on it stating it is for a 69. I cannot seem to get the thing in!
My car has the original dash and came with no a/c, which is what I ordered. To try and put it in from the front, it is 1.125 too wide. I cannot get in in from the bottom for the heater blower. Does this have to be removed? I did not want to send it back to Paddock if the only reason it won't fit is because I lack the proper knowledge to get it in. Can anyone offer advice? Thank you.

I messed with the one on my 67 for 35 trouble lite throwing min.I played and played
till it went in,had to bend it very slightly
I think I went open end first up under dash as far as I could, then got the back to clear heater box, then put it in place. The dam things come out a lot easyer than they go in.
well good luck ,take your time.67rat member #199

I've never replace one without air, but to get old ones out of junked cars, I recall having to do some damage to get them out. I can't imagine them being too easy to get in.

I suggest removing the glove box door for starters and then see if any part of the glove box can be folded or collapsed in any way and then try to reinstall from the front. As you said, the heater box will not allow you to go from the back and the glove box door may not open far enough to install from the front. The glove box door is attached by 3 nuts on the underside of the dash. Remove them and push up on the studs and you'll be able to remove the door. Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.

I am putting a new interior in my 69. I had to remove the glovebox door first before I could put the glovebox in.
Hope that helps...
