I found this as an ad on my google mail page. It does everything but reduce human suffering and reverse global warming. The site says they have been making this for quite a number of years. At $2k , I am not ready to buy one, but the claims they make are pretty good. Not sure I believe all of it though.

I did a little digging and found a number of videos on Youtube showing how it works. It is a little strange. The plasma torch thingie is used along with a ground wire on the piece to be welded and the bare welding rod is held in what looks like a light duty version of a welding rod holder for conventional arc welding. The process does not show any real arc being produced by the welding rod, only heat from the plasma torch appears to do the job. So, it is not obvious why the part and the welding rod are hooked up electrically. Apparently they are just getting the North American sales up and running. More Russian technology for the home shop.
