I just installed a MSD digital 6 plus box, a new coil, and a pro billet distributor and I am getting spark from the coil wire, but No spark from the distributor to the plugs. Any ideas
Thanks in advance

Just for the sake of ruling out the simple and basic stuff first, I feel compelled to ask you this: MSD has a lot of different distributors. Are you sure that the one that you have is compatible with the digital 6 box? I've always used the 6AL box, so pardon me if the question is off the wall.

The distributor is the correct one for a SBC, I am just a little confused with everything it is so simple to wire the MSD products in all color coded, I know my battery is starting to get a litltle weak and I have heard that these boxes require good voltage to even work. This is the first MSD stuff I have installed and I know a lot of people use it so I thought this would be a good place to check.

Yeah, but there are MSD distributirs that don't even use an ignition box, as well as others which can, and also other MSD models cannot even be used at all without the ignition box. That's why I brought it up. I've used MSD boxes and distributors several times on cars of mine. I never had a problem, but I haven't ever chose that digital one either.

And if you're concerned about the battery, then put the key in the "ON" position and check with a voltmeter. If it's above 12 volts then you should be fine. The other thing that I might point out to you is that MSD warns against using solid core sparkplug wires. I know that you must use "spiral core" wires with their 6AL boxes, so I'm thinking that it's the same with their digital 6 boxes too.

Thank you for all of the replies, I did get it fixed and it runs great. When I talked to MSD the tech rep said to wire direct to the battery or a battery source would be fine, so with the battery mounted in the trunk I went to the relay under the hood. Well that was the problem as soon as I wired it direct to the battery in the trunk it fired right up. hopefully this helps someone in the future (Wire the MSD box Directly to the battery).

Thanks again
