hello. i just got my hands on a nice msd 8360 distributor. i wanted to know how to hook up my tach with it. can i just connect it to the negitive terminal on the coil?

PS: my tach is an autometer autogage model.

i also heard that if i don't use an MSD box, i will not get the multiple spark discharge. is that true?

Go here>>>>> MSD 8360 instructions Page #6 is what you are looking for. Yes, tach goes to the neg terminal of the coil.
Correct, you get no "MSD" multiple spark system without an MSD 5,6 or 7 type ignition module.
