I have a 70' El Camino ... and I plan to mount a 6AL box, tucked behind the right side headlights, ... in front of the inner fender wheel well. I'm going to incorporate the new wiring into the OEM harness, which will get re-wrapped. This means ... lenghtening all the smaller gauge wiring an additional 5 ft. (10 total). I do not believe ... the added length should effect operation. But, I'm not sure. Appreciate all comments. Thanks

Probably the best guys to ask are the tech reps at MSD. They should know the product better than anyone.

My 6AL is on the driverside inner fender behind the headlights. I've also installed MSD boxes on three other cars in the same approx. location.
Never had a problem. Stays nice and cool.
Just use the next heavier gauge wire for the lead extensions.
MSD even sells a longer harness for the brown/green wires...
