Hello all I seen this quote and the thread and i really need some direction.....

After all Ive done to this car and it runs a 14 sec anything Id probably have a mid life crisis!:sad:

It's already been nut bolt frame~off that before paint I decided to go a Protouring with it.

I am unsure of tranny as of yet, thinking Bowler 4l60e and Twisty machines Paddle shifter. Would like to leave "room" for up grades later ie. Procharger or Blower. Plan on going EFI some how , either FAST EFI or Holley Kit.....

Those are some of the directions I want to take. I am really starting to second guess my engine choice right now though......

Any help would be appreciated.

Ummm what to search? Sorry i didn't find anything or the "joke' was on me...:D

I did not mean to offend any one with posting up a link to corvette forum... But instead of trying to give info, figured id just give source.

And I bought the corvette first then engine. Traded FINISHED vet for Chevelle roller!!! That should count for something?!!

Well I kart race so F1 style, all the way with little straight track time except street racing. So mostly technical tracks larger then "typical' auto x stuff, but Im still a weekend warrior.

I am really trying to plan this out so i can stop re~redoing things and spending wasteful money. Example i just bought A Currie Rear end "Ultimate Package " from Mark @ S&C 3k and it is only rated too 600 HP? So not sure how bad I messed up there?....

Look I am thinking of dropping 11k on a Tranny set up.... I cant afford any more incompatibilty issues. But will wait a life time for the $ to make things "right." So i am at a cross roads .....

4L60E is an electronic 700-R4. if you want it to live behind a good running big block you'll need to spend some serious coin in internal hard parts upgrades. Having it in there is a killer for looking at a procharger or similar.

Holley EFI is known good and a Holley EFI engineer hangs out here and helps out with questions and problems. Hard to duplicate that kind of help.

I don't remember reading your build on CF, I will go check it out now. If you have any questions about Vette fitments, let me know. I know a 4l80 is VERY tight and requires some grinding/drilling in the tunnel area and a new crossmember. I am running a T400 but I will be switching to a Mike Kertz 200r4 eventually. They are about $4000 but good to 800+hp, and they bolt right in with no mods at all.

OH DAMN.... My bad... I just saw the link to the Corvette forum so I assumed....

Well if I had megabux and a tunnel with a bunch of room, I would do that new TCI 6l80e deal with all the goodies....Its like $6k but good for 800-900 HP..... You could run 2.56 rear gears with that thing and still ET well...

My G8 has the 6l80 in it and with only 2.93 rear gears, it is on the rev limiter in 3rd at 107mph at 6100rpms.....With more power it would top out in 4th(probably 120mph) at the strip....all with 2.93 highway gears....it cruises at 85mph at 2000....:D Thats some driveability.:thumbsup:
