I have a brand new big block power steering pump for my 67. The pulley came separately. How do you mount this pulley? It will not go on far enough to expose the threaded shaft.

The instructions say something about a tool, and how you should not put any back force on the shaft. How does this work?

Jaqazi;

Try holding the unit in your hand while tapping on the pulley. (it's a balancing act) This way, you don't deliver too much force.

If this doesn't work (it works for me), try to locate the "tool". I've never seen one.

Jameel, put the pump in the freezer and the pulley in a warm oven. ~150 degrees. You can tap a little on the pulley, just don't be wailing on it with a big hammer.

Have somebody tighten the nut with an impact wrench, it's real hard to get tight any other way.

Be sure the shaft and bore are clean, no nicks etc - mine went on nicely, but with a close fit. Small taps only.Tighten nut with a wrench after the belt is on.Squeeze the belt to stop rotation.Special tool ???
