Im running a very mild 355 in a race only foot brake car. It have stock SR torquer heads, RPM intake,650 dp and the smallest solid lift comp cam they make. I want to keep the heads, carb and intake the same along with the 5500 red line. What would be the best upgrade for the dollar, a small hyd roller cam or a 383 short block with a slight increase in solid cam? looks like the dollars spent will be close both ways.

383 and a solid cam.
If you do the 383, maybe you could put some compression in it and pick up ?

What is the rest of the combination? More convertor and rear gear could help you out without touching the motor, depending on what you have now.
