Hello, I'm in a bind here. I have a 12 bolt Moser rearend with Baer rear disc brakes. The original caliper brackets Baer sent me won't work. So I call Moser, they said I had to call Baer and get a different bracket. I get the brackets from Baer at $85 pair. Now I'm supposed to have them counterbored. Seems to me they should come counterbored. Also, I don't know to much about these rear disc setups. I have included tow pics. If you look at the rear the pinion is level. The brackets in one position also sit level. If you turn the bracket around the brackets sits at a higher angle in the rear. It is a Moser 12 bolt with the Ford bearing 3.150 Does anybody know the exact measurments on what the counterbore should be? And can you please tell me by the pics what position the brackets should be in. I would really appreciate any help, thanks, Clyde

Does the axle bearing protrude slightly (1/8") out of the housing end? If so that is why the plates need to be counterbored...to stop the bearings from taking all the clamp load of the backing plates. They don't come counterbored becuase Baer doesn't know that you aren't using flush mount housing ends. I have teh same problem because I failed to tell Moser I was using LS1 rear discs so I don't have the flush mount bearings either. Rather than counterbore the backing plates I just made some 1/8" think spacers to take up the gap between the housing ends and the backing plates. I have no idea about you brackets because I have never dealt with Baer brakes.

Hey I appreciate the info, that is an option. On the brackets I just don't know if they are supposed to be the same or are they suppose to be at a 4 and 8 O'clock position. Hopefully someone can help out. Thanks again Gary, Clyde
