I am assembling a 440 and the rod bearings I took out had a notch for the oil squirter, the new bearings do not. Should i get bearings with the quirter notch? I have non squirter bearings already installed and I'm secondguessing myself here. Any advice?

Thanks

Milan,
It is true that any aftermarket rod will not have the squirt hole, but I am curious which bearings you have ? All of the ones I have seen lately still have the notch in them. Either way, I would not worry about it as long as you have the correct bearings (part number).

As stated, not needed. I just put a set on a 383 and 440. No notches, I used King bearings on these two builds. If I remember right, the Clevites I pulled out of the 440 didn't have notches either, but I don't remember for sure. But either way, your good to go.

Thanks guys. I feel a whole lot better now! I read somewhere that the notches were not necessary but I could not find my reference notes, then I started second guessing myself...

Bill, the bearings I installed are Sealed Power 8-2320CP.

Thanks again!
