I want to install the trim that came with my 66, good, bad or ugly. I just want it to look like a Chevelle. Starting with the front hood, eyebrow and splash panel pieces. Then the trunk and taillight area.

Looking at the parts, I see they are missing most of the nuts.

Is it worth buying the fastener kits or will hardware store nuts work ok. My grill has some nice plain slotted sheetmetal screws in it... Annoying!

I have the chassis book and the Fisher Body book, but don't see much detail here. I'm use to brand F late model Ponys, where I have an original 79 for reference and a backyard full of donors for this stuff. It's driving me crazy to try to put stuff back on this car without any idea how it came apart or goes together.

I guess I am not a real resto guy, but I want it as nice as I can get it.

A good paint and body supply should have those moulding nuts. Also you can try restoration specialties or northland fasteners. Good luck

I know what you mean, most of my trim is off my wagon right now. While it was in the shop, I checked with Original Parts Group. They said the fasteners varied a lot in sizes and it's difficult to order because even two of the same cars had different fasteners on them. Looking at my trim, it looks like there are 5-6 different types of fasteners. My trim needs repair, but eventually I'll have to deal with putting it back on.
