Yes, I know. Wow!!!how about the 70 judge for 1 million dollars??? jim
I'll tell you Dean, the way Mecum runs their auction seems pretty unprofessional. Your close, it sold for $528,000, I just looked it up on their website. The hammer went down at $480,000 and they said sold at 480, 000. Then today their website states it sold for the $528,000. I have watched this auction company enough to see them constantly adjusting prices up and and back down again, pretty ridiculous. If you were there bidding in person, they would have you bidding against yourself. Anybody who has been paying close attention to the bidding knows exactly what I'm saying. It went for $529.000 didn't it?
I observed this car up close and personal. I saw enough that would have made me walk away from it at that kind of money. All of the above "extras" are part of the deal but I'm sure any prospective buyer understands that. If what Tom indicates is so, then maybe someone didn't do their homework and just wanted to be able to say "I have an LS-6 'vert...do you? As always, due diligence should be part of ANY deal. Guess I'll stay just an observer...
I believe it. I have been to a couple of these auctions and you would be surprised at the paint and trim flaws throughout some of these cars that look great on TV. Some of the paint work looked like a rush job with small areas of rust peeping through in the usual places. You just stand there shaking your head.I observed this car up close and personal. I saw enough that would have made me walk away from it at that kind of money.
I get the feeling that those rich people really don't care.I observed this car up close and personal. I saw enough that would have made me walk away from it at that kind of money.
Nor can 95% of them tell the difference between a 20 footer or nicely done, well built car.I get the feeling that those rich people really don't care.
