so there's a 69 firebird front end parts on craigslist for 150 bucks. basically the nose, piece, lower valance headlight core support inner fenderwells hood release. no fenders.
Being the idiot that I am, I went and dragged it home. the idea is to bolt the front end to the core support with the lower valance and bolt it to the side of the garage out back.
will post pics if I ever get this project going. jim

I'm keeping this, threw the lower valance filler, inner fenders and rear bumper on craigslist, maybe I'll get most of my $$$ back.

I've always wanted to do that with a 1970 Chevelle front end. Actually priced out the parts but was way over my budget.
It took my 2 years to find a suitable donor and it was still a ton of money but I like it.

You want stupid Jim, here ya go.....

Got a great deal on a basket case 1964 Elky from a buddy over a year ago. Always wnated an Elky, prefer 68 but....hey Love the one you're with right...plus my 70+ yr old Vet bud was financing a wedding ring for his bride so.....AIM... FIRE! screw READY.... Well, Ive paid more in storage fees for the hulk than I paid him since, and so far all I got is a 64 Elky front grille as a decoration in my garage. AND WORSE , am thinking of punting on this project. Frame repair, full body pan is WAY more than I've ever done. I fear I'll eff it all up. I hate half assed more than not having.

Stupid dream of driving my Elky cross country back to WYO just to visit has cost me more than a Avis 2 week rental already. AND NO FUN!

Did score a virgin SBC400 and some AFR heads with the Elky. Already picked up some 350 rods for that build. Already thought of back-halving WIth Alston, building the 400 with AFR 220s + street ram dual quad to nostalgia bracket race with... but my trip out west..... what now, build a tow mule for a drag car!?

Stupid ideas for breakfast Jim! Yours weren't! GOOD DAY MAN!

I have ALWAYS wanted to do some wall art like this, but all the parts I have ever come across were either too valuable to waste hanging on the wall , or in rough enough shape to require far more time and money than I can justify for such a project. Damn if you do and damn if you don't. I DO love them though.

I had to weld up holes in the fenders and hood, nobody would have used either for an actual car. They were junk but perfect for what I had planned. I'm still looking for a 67 ass end.

I ended up with a complete 67 front clip a couple years ago for cheap, thought about chopping it but someone needed the entire clip more than me. Same with a 66 clip. I wanted the cowl hood but had to buy the entire front clip. turned out the 2.5 inch scoop was too short for the blower, sold the hood then someone needed the rest so instead of chopping it up I made some $$$. another guy had some bucket seat cores in phoenix. made the drive, the seats were pretty trashed but he also had the back 1/3 of a 66. so I grabbed it too. Of course someone wanted the quarters so the back end went bye bye.
If someone needs the firebird nose before I figure how to mount it, I'll probably take the headlight buckets for my 66 core support and let the nose go. jim
