I have talked to Mark several times in the last few years. Earlier this year I called Mark again and we discussed which 467. We settled on the solid flat tappet version. October is the expected delivery. I think my sons and grandson are more excited than I am. It is going into a 69' Chevelle 300 Deluxe hardtop.

Congrats! I spoke to Mark a couple months back and the waiting list is long. How long did it take from ordering to completion, assuming its completed on time as promised?

I ordered it around July 4 knowing I would not get to use it much this year. Mark said about 3 months. As we all know machine shop delays come up. He has encountered a few problems with parts with other builds which means a better parts list for my engine. And, when you run an engine things show up and have to be addressed.

Now we definitely need to meet up in person!

Very happy for you. Mark is a stand up guy who gives you amazing motors at a very fair price.

Just be sure to ask for new rear tires for Christmas.

And Easter. And your birthday....... :)

We were in Ohio last week. Went to Summits scratch and dent sale and picked up some things for the 467. Picked up a set of M/T drag radials 8 weeks ago. I did have some trouble getting the right offset for the new rims. Ended up with 15 x 8 with a 5" backspace. Perfect, 1" frame and fender lip clearance.

I will be using my 10" Coan then switch to Marks recommended 8". I want to compare the difference.

Whats the stall speed on that 8"?
I'm going to say 5k.
Behind his 467, it could be higher.
Call me old school, but "solid flat tappet" is music to my ears and you've certainly contracted out with the one of the best creators of Chevy rats around.

I plan on using Edlebrocks Victor water pump 8851. The inlet hose diameter is supposed to be larger than stock. What hose are you using?
I am having trouble finding a throttle return bracket that will work with a drop base air cleaner, any suggestions?
Any reminders on small parts I may need?
I should have the engine later this month.

That is for sure! 3rd year on mine...haven't had to do anything except change oil and mess with the carb just a bit. I LOVE it!

shhhhh, I almost wished my home-built 427 blew up this year to put an MJ 4" arm engine in mine. My lil rat keeps on "ticking" though. Some day!

Mine should be here anytime. If you haven't searched his youtube channel, you may be able to find it on the dyno. Here's mine.

Can't wait to get this thing dropped in.

Are you keeping the 4.11s or changing over to something in the low to mid threes? Your motor will make so much TQ you really won't need those gears, IMHO.

Is your Challenger ready to be your slow car? :)

Yeah, I agree and already have it scheduled to get the rear diff rebuilt as well with new gears. I'm going back and forth between 3.08 and 3.42s. I think I'm going to go with 3.42s. I have a big road trip planned next year which won't be as enjoyable as if I would go with the 3.08s, but don't want to build this car based on the one road trip I'm planning on making with it.

And yes, it's hard to fathom the SRT8 being the slow one. I assume they'll both have the same problem getting all the power to the ground. :grin2:
