I am looking hard at a Mallory 85 series HEI to drop into my '83 ford f-150 to replace the non adjustable EEC-III distributor in there now. Any opinions (good or bad) on Mallorys products?
I can get pro-comp (chinese) 351w HEI distributors off of ebay all day long for under $70, but I need a reliable unit that fits without issues. This truck gets a lot of highway miles so reliability is very important.

I've run thier stuff for years. The only problem I had was when I didn't run a ballast resistor like I was supposed to. The distributor you're looking at looks to be a drop in replacement, should work just fine!!!:thumbsup:

I use a MSD coil, the box and the distributor are Mallory, Unilite even and I've never had an issue with it. I've also used two Unilite conversion kits in the past and never had a failure.

I've always used Mallory stuff and never had any problems. It's all well made and works as advertised.
