Grind any large weld spatter and then finish with an orbital sander or disc grinder with 120 grit. Will you be sandblasting the frame? I have a powder line at work and the #1 rule is that the parts need to be SUPER CLEAN to insure good adhesion and avoid corrosion underneath the powder.

Bill, the first thing I did was what Tom said. I ground down all the slag from the weld splatter. I then cleaned up all the joints in the frame and rewelded them and ground them smooth. I did most of the work up front, and left some of the original look to the frame in the back. Here's a link to my frame that is under the car I'm working on. http://www.leverfamilysite.com/Ray_Griffins_New_Car_Frame.htm

tom, yes i'm getting the frame sandblasted before the powder coating. ray, that frame of yours looks great, i seen your previous posting about the hours of work you did to it. mainly where the upper a-arms in the front there is a lot of slag from welding, i was going to grind them down along with some other area's that need attention. well looks like i'll get started on it. thanks for all the info. bill:thumbsup:
