Engine ran great, no bog at all pulled to 6500 easy but I couldn't get it to hook at all. Constantly in and out of the throttle.

Best pass was an 11.84 at 117 with a 2.0something 60 ft. Time for some new tires, cords are showing on the 28x9 goodyears and I need something taller and wider.

It was fun to get back out there and the tunnel ram and 650s are running great just need so get some tires and probably some real shocks.

Well its already gone 11.28 at 116 with a single 850. There is definitely some more to be had and it feels so much stronger with this tunnel ram setup.

I think a 29 or 30 x 10 or 10.5 and some decent rear shocks can get me very bottom 11s. I bought these 28x9s used and they are just done, it would just spin right at the hit and anywhere else I got back into it.

I'm happy that I had no carb issues, it feels spot on. It was also a "street" day, not much for track prep.

I easily see tens with your setup Todd. Is the rear set low enough ? Is your car launching straight out of the hole? If not, correcting these 2 areas will automatically give you another second.

The car sits way low in the rear, I have the umi relocation brackets on the LCAs as well. I am planning on putting my air bag back in the right rear or just going straight to an anti roll bar because it just buries the right rear. With new tires and the bag, I think there is a 10.99 in it. I need less gear so the tires I go with will be either 29 or 30 inches tall.

Do you have to run a drive shaft loop on your car? I have never run on a strip before and was thinking about going up there. My car is a 68 Camaro with a Magnaflow exhaust with an X-pipe that runs right underneath the u-joint.
If you go on one of the Tintmasters street days, tech is a bit more lenient, but I do have a driveshaft loop. The tech on those days is more of a "you can run it today but have this and this done for next time". They aren't going to let you run 9s in a convertible with no roll bar but a few things will slide by.

What kind of work do you have done to the 781 heads.?
The heads have been milled .030, chambers measure 110 cc. I have the 2.19 and 1.88 valves installed with a good valve job, the chamber had to be opened a bit to clear the close chamber LS-6 pistons but that's it, no porting what so ever. I just put a new set of Lunati 73121 valvesprings in but with a .060 shim. That put me at 165 on the seat and 425 open. It will rev to 6500 with no float.

I agree 117mph should just get you in the tens .......

Hmm interesting I have thought of taking my car to your track .....did not realize you had a "streetdays " my car meets all the NHRA safety tech stuff EXCEPT rollbar and it is quicker than 11.50 I have worn out my welcome at our track so cant make a good pass ....on our street days with poor track prep they let me go low elevens but no more !!! I lift a bit at mid 4th gear ....... do they do any prep on a street day ?? when is next street day ??

July 20th is the next Tintmasters street legal day. Gates and tech open at 10am, racing at noon.

40 bucks to get in and you just line up and go as many times as you want. There wasn't many cars out there, you could make a pass and by the time you were back you could make another.

I've made over 25 passes at one of these street days. Track prep is ok at noon and gets worse throughout the day, they might prep it one more time depending on what kinds of cars are there. If there are some fast cars there, they will prep it good, if its just a bunch of new Camaros running 14s, not so much.

I couldn't have hooked on flypaper after looking at my tires closer.

worse then the driveline hitting the floorboard is the driveline digging into the track and you and your car pole vaulting

Even a day spinning at the track is better than the best day doing much of anything else, hope you had fun.

Dang, sounds like I need to think about upping the converter or something if you guys think 117mph or so is good for close to 10s.

My car was trapping high 116s last time out and running 11.6 on a 1.7 60ft. I have since corrected a 2-3 shift issue which was causing it to hit the rev limit and nose over a little on the shift. I wouldn't be surprised to see it trap 117-118mph in good air now.

Definitely a good time but I would have loved to see what it would have done, had it hooked. Also, I have way too much gear, I'm at 6k in third before 3/4 track. I'm thinking a 30x10 or 10.5 will help.
