I have the 5.3 in my 70 El Camino running right thanks to Hotwire Jeff, but I am still fighting with the temp guage I have tried all kinds of resistors the 125 ohm ceramic resistor is the highest one that I have tried so far and it is the only one that will get the needle to move from full left to the 100 mark even though the scanner is reading the temp at 187 to 190. I'm using a 98 Camaro LS1 3 wire temp sender, so I'm wondering if anyone else is using this sender with factory type guages and what resistor you may have used. As usual any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

all sending units must match the cars gauges get a temp sender for a gauge for your car. tryto get a shorter adapter because it will place the tip further into the coolant jacket for more accurate readings and dont use sealer on the adapter or sending unit. Are we talking about a temp sender or a fue tank sender?I am confused by your post

No it was for the temp guage, but I'm gonna try the adjustable resister because when I put a 125 ohm resistor on the back of the guage it did actually move a little only over to the 100 line but that was the most I'd seen it move, and the highest resistor I had so since I don't know what I need this seems like the best option to me. I still have the original ac box on the firewall so the adapter to be able to install a install a factory sender on the passenger head wouldn't work in this situation and I can not afford a stand alone ac system!
