I'm starting to do all the research to do an LS swap in my Camino and the one thing I cant seem to find info on is the radiator. I have a 1 year old aluminum one that I had with my Big Block and I am wondering if the same rad can be used in the swap? Most of the pictures I see have the lower hose a bit higher up on the tank, but the old school rads are right at the bottom, will they still work?

The radiator that you have will work but will require a different hose configuration. You do not absolutely need a steam port on the radiator. There are options.I run a tee in the upper hose for the steam port, and others have drilled and tapped the water pump. Many ways to address this issue.I suggest you give LS1Tech a look.Lots of good information in their conversions and hybrids section

I'm running the off brand plastic tank radiator that came in my 64 when I bought it. You can make the rad you have work or you can get one specific to how you want to run your hoses. You can also swap water pumps to get different outlet choices (depending on what accessory/belt setup you choose to run).

I have my LS pushed all the way back to the firewall and am running truck accessories. Ample room to run all accessories and electric fans with no problems. I was running a truck pump w/ the outlet on the passenger side then switched to an LS3 water pump and cleaned up my hose routing as the top hose is on the driver's side of my rad.

Pieced my rad hoses together through trial and error. Upper hose is 2 90's connected together to add the steam line, this is what you'd need to run, I'm using one similar to the bottom, can't remember what size I went with though.

You can drill and tap the LS water pump as a port for the steam line out of the engine.

Or go to the "Jags That Run" web site and pick up the radiator hose t-fitting mentioned above for whatever size of rubber radiator hose that you have.
