Bruce..I have seen them sell anywhere from $3500 to $5000
very rare for sure.
However, there was an attempt at reproducing these at one time, IIRC, so you have to watch out for that. Not sure what the differences were though.

I know the guy that owned it. he has a lot of rare stuff. he thinks he is going to make a killing on e-bay but he has no idea how it works. One of the e-bay sharks talked him into ending the auction and paid him 1700.00 for it plus he talked him out of an LS-6 dist for $700.00 So I would look for it back on e-bay shortly. I personally checked this stuff out and it's the real deal. I thought that air cleaner was worth at least 2500.00 I have tried to buy stuff from this guy before but he never wants to sell me anything probably because he knows i would re-sell it.

The dual snorkle also came on the non-A/C, non-Cowl Induction LS5. It was not specific to the LS6.
That is the first time I have heard it was available on the LS5. I was pretty sure any LS5 without CI would have received the open element. Do you have any factory docs showing this application?

My friend's LS5 without C.I. had the dual snorkel air cleaner.

This is the friend I was telling about that thought he was ordering a small block and was very surprised when it came and had the LS5 motor.

Referring to the subject dual snorkel AC, not here say. If one ever did come from the factory on a non L-78 or LS-6 car is was an accident. The base for that AC is designed for Holley carb application, solid-lifter cars only. In '70 it was for chevelles, elcaminos, camaros, and novas with L-78 or LS-6 cars (as allowed by ordering rules for each model - No LS-6 novas or camaros). Opps, forgot the monte carlos - but no dual snokel AC was applied to any monte carlo of that period. If the dual snrkel did come on LS5 cars there would be a flood of them on the market - not. Hence the high prices! They were only intended for the holley equipted SHP applications. The only dual snorkel which did come on LS5 and low HP 396 Q-jet equipted cars was on the '71 & '72 chevelle and camaros and it had the thermacs on the snorkels.
