I read your previous post about your engine specs, My combo is very similar to yours, the only difference is the intake. I run a performer you a rpm. Just curious to what your engine will rev to, I'm all done by five grand and am trying to pinpoint why. (think its the valvesprings)

The engines run out of ooomph because the cam is small
Small duration in a 454 is only low to midrange power no matter what spring you throw at it.

You have drag radials, yes?
If so...stay out of the water for your burnout!!!!!
Water gets in the treads, leaks out at the start line...kills your launch....
