loudest street muffler?

I'm putting a new exhuast on my chevelle. What is the loudest street legal muffler? Loud from idle to full throttle

That would have to be the 3"Flow-Master 40series 2 chamber.:thumbsup:

No, that would be any bullet type muffler..Nothing but a straight hollow tube. That's what I run.

Try the Flowmaster Super 40 2-chamber. I have 3"er's on mine and it is nasty and loud. I love it.

That may be so,however HERE a "street legal" muffler must be "fully welded & baffled"...I know 'cause I've found myself explaining this to the odd cop a time or two.

That is what I have I guess that explains why I have not come across to many cars on the street louder then mine. I did not research when I purchased mine just went by a suggestion a guy gave me.

Don't count out Spin Tech mufflers. They're pretty loud too, and don't have that typical Flowmaster sound :thumbsup:

W/D/T Continental smooth perforated inner pipe GLASSPACKS!!

The red ones from Summit! They used to be blue way back there..

Old-school to the end!! Love that "Cop-calling" cackle!!

They flow just a schosh under a straight pipe the same diameter AND length!!

BUT the biggest are only 2.5" in dia........

SLP Loudmouth resonators.. i mean mufflers. they sound mean. im buying a set this winter hopfully.
Moroso Spiral Flows sound wicked as well, my friend has them on a cammed up 308 in a Bronco II. definatly loud.
the dynomax bulley muffler sounds real nice. its loud, but not all too too loud.

or you can go for chambered exhaust and resonators.

sorry to steal the post a bit. I am also looking for an extrememly loud muffler...i want u to know im coming well before you can see me. Also wat i want the most is that crackle on a down shift, im running a 6speed in my chevelle. If anyone knows of any muflers that can provide that, please let me know. Thanx Josh

Try my set up. On a 350, 2 1/2 inch Thrush glasspaks right after the collector reduced from 3in to 2 1/2in only.

thanks for all the responses. I think i'm going to use either the 40's flows or the super 40's. Which one of these have the deep rumble sound? or are they all the same? i'm using 3" to the mufflers then 2.5" tailpipes. (the smaller pipe will fit much better and bend easier over the axle.

Young,

My 3" system from Torq Tech fits better than the 2 1/2" Flowmaster American Thunder system I took off. The clearance over the rear axle is sweet! If you have a big block in your 67 you will love it.
