I've been working on the headlight harness on the '66; cleaned the wires, terminals, connectors, and it looks pretty good. There are about 5 "clips" that attach the harness to the radiator support. These clips are attached to the harness with the vinyl wrapping. They are plastic, curved with slots on each end, and have a split arrow shape that snaps into round holes in the rad. support. If you've seen them, you know what I mean. Anyway, most of mine are broken either from removal or just from being old and brittle. Does anyone know where I can get replacements of these for a reasonable price? I've checked all my catalogs and the M&H website (they don't sell individual parts). This is really holding me back. I'd hate to have to use nylon tie straps instead.

Thanks.

I had the same problem on my 66SS, all the clips that were part of the harness that mounted to the rad support, and the ones on the fender on the drivers side had gotten hard and broke every time i tried to move one. I took one to the chevy dealer and they had them on the shelf, I suggest you take one to the dealers and check the parts departments, you would be surprised what some of the older dealears still have or can get, by the way, they only charged me thirty five cents a piece for them, good luck.

Thanks, Rocky. I've thought about going to the dealer, but figured they'd just laugh at me (for trying to find tiny little parts that probably haven't been used for 30 years). The other problems with my local Chevy dealer is that their parts dept. hours coincide with my work hours which makes it difficult to get there, and their books don't go back to 66 (I've inquired before). But I'll go there this Sat. morning, and hopefully they'll have these clips. If they don't, I'll look for an older dealer.
Thanks again.

Here is another place to try: Richco. Look at their website at www.richco.com/
They make lots of plastic clips and so on. If you look at their online catalog, go to the topic of "Wire routing Clips and Clamps", then "view by part name" and look at the following classes of parts: CH, RSC, RSW, RSWF and HURC. You may be able to use one of those parts on your harness. The trick will be to find someone that stocks the one(s) you can use. Richco sells only to distributors.

Thanks for the help, everyone. I went to my local Chevy dealer and they did not have the clips. They recommended that I go to some place called Chevyland. I checked the Richco site, but didn't see anything that was quite right.

The search continues.
